Mary D. Brannen Abilene Mary D. Brannen, 92, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at a local medical center in Abilene. Services will be 10:00a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.Mary was born on August 14, 1918 to Edward and Edith Nemec in Perry, Oklahoma. She was raised and attended schools in her hometown and married James Brannen on March 8, 1956. They moved to Abilene in 1960 from Peacock, Texas. Mary was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She also worked at TG&Y in the fabric department for several years.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, a son; James B. Carpenter; and a sister; Phyllis West. She is survived by her daughter; Janet Gibson and husband William of Abilene, a niece; Sandra Kettelhut and husband Michel of Dallas; two great-nieces Stacy and Sahra Kettelhut both of Dallas; and three grandsons; Russell, Daniel, and Nicholas Gibson all of Abilene.You may view and sign guestbook at www.elliott-hamil.com
