Mary Ann CarlsonLAROSE - Mary Ann (Ransom) Carlson, 74, of LaRose passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 4:48 a.m. in the emergency room of OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Antioch Christian Church in Toluca. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert Idell will officiate. Burial will follow at Bell Plain Baptist Cemetery in Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to Antioch Christian Church or to the Washburn Ambulance Service. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born on May 29, 1942, at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, IL, to James A. and Catherine M. (Shirley) Ransom. She married Dennis K. Carlson on January 2, 1965, in Pattonsburg, IL. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2010. Surviving are two children, Brian (Debra) Carlson of South Bend, IN, and Brenda Carlson of LaRose; and one granddaughter, Jessica (Jesse) Haines of Houston, TX. Her father; her stepfather, Maurice Bond; and one brother, Donald E. Ransom, preceded her in death. Mary was a graduate of LaRose High School, class of 1960. She was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and Antioch Christian Church. Mary loved to spend time with her family and was devoted to her mother, Catherine Bond, who survives in Eureka.
