It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Tolbert, who was born on March 5, 1952, and passed away on September 21, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama, United States.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jerome Tolbert, whom she married when she was 17, and their two children, Monique Tolbert and Denise Tolbert. She is also survived by her father Ottis Lee and mother Emma Lee. Mary also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren De’Ashia Sanders and Anthony Cunningham.

Mary attended Wenonah High School and graduated in 1975. She had a passion for education and was dedicated to her family. Mary will be remembered for her kind heart, loving nature, and devotion to her loved ones.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
