MARTIN MARGO Obituary

Feb 21, 1929 - Dec 28, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Martin Marion Margo Martin Marion Margo of Puyallup, WA passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016. Martin was born on February 20, 1929 in Hammond, LA to his parents Jake and Angelina (Vicarise) Margo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lita, of 65 years. Together they had five children, Jackie Margo (who preceded him in death), Johnnie of Puyallup, Charlotte of Puyallup, Marty of Stockton, CA, and Vince of San Jose CA, along with nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Martin is survived by four siblings, Vincent Margo of San Jose, CA, Jack Margo of San Jose, CA, Patti Margo Iacometti of Reno, NV, and Josie Margo Vossler of Reno, NV. Martin served his military duty in the United States Army while in Korea from 1951 1953. He was a Real Estate broker and owned and sold real estate as Margo Realty in San Jose, California for 35 years before retiring at the age of 59. Playing the guitar and music gave him much joy as he played in a band publicly in various Honky Tonks as he called them around the San Jose area. He did this prior to entering the Army but continued to play at times for family gatherings whenever he could. He loved to be working outside with his hands and was very crafty at building and repairing almost anything, which stems from his early jobs in construction he held immediately following his active duty in the military. He loved gardening along with his wife Lita in their yard and always seemed to have something growing whether it be vegetables, various fruits from his many trees, not to mention his Roses. Martin appreciated the good soil in the Puyallup valley and just knew it was good dirt, you see he was raised In Louisiana on a farm with his family so he could appreciate good things grown fresh. He enjoyed sharing the fruits and vegetables he had grown with family and neighbors. Talking to his grandkids and great grandkids telling stories and joking around was something he was good at, he was a little jokester. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held in Martin's honor on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:30/PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA. A gathering at the funeral home will take place prior to services at 2:00/PM. Family and friends kindly invited.
