Martha PowellPalmyra, TNMartha "Polly" Powell, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.Polly was born on December 5, 1931 and raised in Palmyra, TN. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Essie Byrd. Polly was married to Ray Powell for 61 years, who preceded her in death in 2011. Polly and Ray were farmers and enjoyed many years together raising tobacco and gardening. Polly loved to cook, cross-stitch, and was avid about working picture puzzles. Later in life, she went to work at Josten's, where she retired after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Palmyra Methodist Church. Survivors include son, Donald Powell, daughters, Deborah Cummings and Reba Jackson, sisters, Nelda Bush and Sue Choate, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
