Marshall E. Houck, Jr.StewartstownMarshall E. "Sonny" Houck, Jr., died Thursday, November 10, 2016, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Anna (Greineder) Houck and they celebrated 56 years of marriage on September 6, 2016.There will be a public viewing at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 315 N. Constitution Ave., New Freedom, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a funeral liturgy beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with the York County Veterans Honor Guard rendering military honors.Sonny was born on Christmas Day, 1933, in Dudley, a son of the late Marshall E. Houck, Sr. and Catherine (Cook) Houck. After proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force, Sonny was employed as a supervisor at GTE, which is now Verizon. Shortly after his retirement, he went to work as a pharmaceutical technician for Brockie Pharmatech, and was later a driver for WellSpan. A faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, he was also an Extraordinary Minister. Sonny enjoyed birdwatching and will be fondly remembered as having a great sense of humor.Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Marshall S. Houck, Red Lion, Theresa Hicks, Stewartstown, Christina Bellotti, and her husband, John of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Gregory Houck, Brogue; five grandchildren, Matthew and Rachel Houck, Stephanie and Michael Bellotti, and the grandchild he raised as his own, Jennifer Hicks; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Audrey Houck, Alexandria, and JoEllen Houp, Baltimore, Md.. Sonny was preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Houck.
