It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MarQuez Toney, who left this world on August 21, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born on March 9, 1979, MarQuez was known for his infectious laughter and love for life.

MarQuez, was the son of Mark Ray Toney Sr. and Jackie Moore Toney. He leaves behind four children, Chanyah McDuffie, Avayah Garrett, MarQuie Toney, and Marley Toney, who meant the world to him.

After graduating from Clinton High School in 1997, MarQuez went on to serve in the Marine Corps as a Corporal in the Communication Battalion unit for four years.

Outside of his military service, MarQuez had a passion for coaching basketball, fishing, and spending quality time with his children. He was always the life of the party, with a joke ready to make everyone laugh.

Despite his larger-than-life personality, MarQuez faced health issues that he fought with bravery and resilience. In the end, it was his time to rest.

While we mourn the loss of MarQuez, let us remember the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. He will forever be remembered as a beloved father, son, friend, and soldier.
