It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of MarQuez Toney, who was born on March 9, 1979, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. MarQuez passed away on August 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

MarQuez was the beloved son of Mark Ray Toney Sr and Jackie Moore Toney. He leaves behind his four children, Chanyah McDuffie, Avayah Garrett, MarQuie Toney, and Marley Toney. MarQuez attended Clinton High School and graduated in 1997. He was passionate about coaching youth basketball and was actively involved in the local community.

MarQuez proudly served in the Army as a Corporal in the Communication Battalion for four years. He was a dedicated soldier and a valued member of his unit. In his free time, MarQuez enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, and spending quality time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
