It is with deepest sympathy and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Hedrick, a beloved son, father, coach, and friend, who touched the lives of so many in his family and community.
Mark was born into a loving family and grew up with strong values of kindness, humility, and hard work. He carried those values throughout his life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service to others.
Mark was blessed with two beautiful children, who were the pride and joy of his life. On July 9, 2004, he welcomed his first child, Kaden Hedrick, and on December 1, 2006, his second child, Noel Hedrick, was born. Mark’s devotion as a father was evident in everything he did—he cherished every moment with his children and dedicated himself to providing them with love, guidance, and support.
He also leaves behind his mother, Rita Hedrick, who remained a source of love and encouragement throughout his life, as well as a large and caring family who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Mark lived a simple life filled with purpose. He had a great passion for sports, not only as a fan but as a mentor to young athletes. Since 2013, he served as a coach for the Joplin Eagles Middle School football team, where he inspired countless students with his dedication, patience, and encouragement. His players and colleagues remember him as a steady leader who cared deeply for each child’s growth, both on and off the field.
Beyond his role as a coach, Mark was a valued member of the community. He gave selflessly of his time, always willing to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his genuine nature, and the lasting impact he made on so many lives.
Mark’s life, though far too short, was filled with meaning and love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, his family, his friends, and the countless young people whose lives he influenced.
Services to honor and celebrate Mark’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
