He attended St. Peter's School, Washington Jr. High School and Bradford Senior High. An iconoclast to the very end, he toured with Van Halen as a roadie in his late teens and later joined the United States Army, a proud member of 82nd Airborne Division. During his time in the army, he traveled to Egypt, Panama and Alaska. His exploits and adventures while in the army were chronicled by his best friend and author, Raul Correa in the book, I Don't Know But I've Been Told (Harper Collins). He moved to Ft. Lauderdale, and joined the Broward Sheriff's Department where he served for 11 years, and became a proud father to his daughter, Angelina Alyse. Mark moved to New York City in 1995, and worked as the Manager and Public Relations Director of Merchant's Restaurant on the Upper East Side, and in the West Village. In 2000, he returned to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Mark loved to fish Lake Michigan with his nephews and his brothers, and was a devoted member of No Veteran Dies Alone. Most recently, he created Lower East Side Media on Youtube with over 1,000 subscribers who tuned in regularly to watch his expertly crafted and beautifully edited rock and roll videos of his favorite band, The Rolling Stones, and where he also promoted up and coming artists. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Lipnicki Naumowicz. He is survived by his daughter, Angelina; his granddaughter, Mila Everly; his father and stepmother, Albert and Margie Slugocki; his sisters, Lillian Slugocki, Lori Slugocki, Lonnie Bero and his brothers, Steven Naumowicz, Mike Naumowicz, John Naumowicz and Gregory Slugocki, as well as a loving extended family including, Sophi Neu, Debi Wallin (his honorary sister) Zach, Luke, Jacob and Chloe Naumowicz, Chris Neu, Brad Neu, Ted Lipnicki, Stacey Chike and Lisa and Kyle Lipnicki, and many others. His irrepressible spirit, his laughter and his stories will always be remembered. In Mark's own words, "Peace Out." He will be buried with full military honors at the V.A. Cemetery in Union Grove.
