Sanders, Mark HowardMark Howard Sanders, 85, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 at Daughters of Sarah in Albany, NY. He was born on January 28, 1932 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Samuel and Rose Sanders.Mark grew up in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from the Midwood High School in Brooklyn. He attended college at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY where he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He continued his education by receiving his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry He was an Optometrist for many years in Elmira, NY until he retired. Mark married Florence in1959 in Brooklyn, NY. They were happily married for 47 years, until her death in 2006. Mark was a member of Knights of Pythias. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed bowling and reading. Mark is survived by his daughters Debra C. Zimring (Jeff) and Adrienne O'Neill (Bruce Ruf) of Albany NY, brother Harvey Sanders of New Jersey, grandchildren Steven and Haylea Zimring and Michael O'Neill and Nicholas Ruf of Albany , NY. Mark was preceded in death by his wife Florence and his son, Paul Sanders. Services were held at the Levine Memorial Chapel, in Albany, NY on Monday, October 9, 2017 Interment was in the Independent Benevolent Cemetery in Albany follow the.
