Mark Praneis, age 74, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 18^th, 2023, in Cape Coral, FL. He was born May 10^th, 1949, in Chicago, IL to Alex F. Praneis and Mary H. Bowers.

Mark is survived by his son and his family, Todd Praneis and his wife Priscilla Praneis. Todd and Priscilla’s children, Felecia Polk, Logan Praneis, Sam Praneis, and Natalie Praneis. Mark had no siblings. He also considered Todd’s step-siblings as family. Brother Pete Osborne and his wife Natalie Osborne, their children Nesta Barbee, Olivia Osborne, and Ruby Osborne. Sister Kirsten Osborne and her children, Hailey Robins, Adeline Robins, and Zachary Osborne.

Mark was a person that lived life to its fullest. From racing sailing boats while living in Buffalo, NY, to moving to Singapore for work and traveling to most of the Southeast Asian countries to remote oil platforms, to scuba diving all over the world. And, more recently, braving some of the most destructive hurricanes to hit the south Florida coastline in many years while staying home through it all. Mark’s laugh was infectious and will be missed.

A celebration of life will be held on September 24th, 2023 at 2-4pm at Cross and Crown Church, 7404 Elevator Rd., Roscoe IL.
