It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Chorpening, who was born on July 20, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Mark peacefully left this world on October 23, 2025.

Mark was a dedicated employee at CSX, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2024. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his job.

Outside of work, Mark had a passion for yard work. He loved spending time outdoors, tending to his garden and making sure his yard was always looking its best. He found solace and joy in working with his hands and being surrounded by nature.

Mark is survived by his partner, Patricia Chorpening, and their two children, Elena Chorpening (spouse Cody Carrick) and Andrei Chorpening. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark's passing was due to a stroke, and though he is no longer with us, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
