RACINE - Marjorie "Marge" Schonert, 98, passed away at Becker Shoop Center on Monday April 2, 2012. Marge was born on January 2, 1914 in Morris, Illinois, the daughter of the late, Herbert and Catherine (nee: Mitchell) Enger. After graduating from Morris High School in 1932, Marge was united in marriage to Eugene A. Schonert on May 9, 1934 in Morris, Illinois. Marge was a longtime and faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church. She was employed at Racine Country Club for 32 years, beginning as a waitress and later promoted to and retired as Office Manager. Marge found great enjoyment in knitting, a good game of cards, but most of all she cherished and valued the time she spent with her family. Marge is survived by her three sons; Lee (LaDonna) Schonert, Gary (Sharon) Schonert and John (Cheryl) Schonert; grandchildren, Steven (Trina) Schonert, Trina (Tory) Prudhomme, Margene (Ron) Wilson, Barry Schonert, Andrew (Kim) Schonert, Donald (Annette) Anderson, Cheryl Anderson and Christopher (Virginia) Anderson. She is further survived by great grandchildren, Jenna (Mitch) Buenger, Alicia and Kaci Marjorie Schonert, Timothy and Tiffany Prudhomme, Adam, Aaron and Andrew Wilson, Alex Anderson, Damien and Sofie Schonert, Joel, Kailin, Kyleigh and Nicholas Anderson; great great grandchildren, Kayla, Carly and Tyler Prudhomme. one sister, Barbara Pierce of Yorkville, Illinois, one brother, Herbie (Rose) Enger, of Morris, Illinois, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on February 28, 2001, and two sisters, Dorothy Davies and Betty Johnson. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Alan McCalister officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Marge in a special way, may direct memorials to Second Presbyterian Church, 1400 Kingston Ave. Racine, WI 53403.
