Mrs. Marion Elizabeth Twyman was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1914, to Beatrice and James Butler in the Blandford Community of Petersburg, Va., but later moved to New York City at the age of sixteen.She was married to Preston Raymond Twyman, Sr. and gave birth to four children, Delores Twyman, Preston R. Twyman, Jr., June C. Twyman and Gloria A. Twyman.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Preston R. Twyman, Sr.; her oldest daughter, Delores Twyman, Jr., and her youngest daughter, Gloria A. Twyman.She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Preston R. Twyman, Jr. of Fayetteville, Ga.; a daughter, Rev. June C. Twyman of Petersburg, Va.; a devoted granddaughter, Gloria Ramsey of New York; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; one aunt, Ruth Kincaid of San Antonio, TX; one uncle, Walter White of Petersburg, Va.; and a host of cousins and friends.Services will be held at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in New York City on Monday, November 7, 2016, where she maintained membership for over 60 years. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, Va.
