A Life Well Lived

Mario Montoya, 65, passed away on November 9, 2025, in LaPorte, Indiana. Born on February 15, 1960, in LaPorte, he remained a proud lifelong resident of the community that shaped him.

On March 6, 1984, in Michigan City, Mario married the love of his life, Alicia Alvarez. Together they built a life centered around family and shared joy. Mario was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Jorje, Vanessa, and Jesus Montoya. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Taliyah, Adrien, and Violet Montoya. Mario found immense happiness in spending time with his grandchildren—moments filled with stories, smiles, and unwavering affection.

A passionate sports fan, Mario took great pride in cheering on the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Whether celebrating a win or lamenting a loss, he remained loyal to his teams through every season.

Mario’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best. May his love for family and enduring spirit bring comfort to all who mourn his passing. A Visitation will be held on November 19, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd
