In Loving Memory of Ma. Theresa “Tata” Orqueza Lataquin
January 10, 1953 – June 24, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, auntie, and friend, Maria Theresa Orqueza Lataquin, fondly known as Tata, who peacefully joined our Creator at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City after quietly battling the long-term effects of stroke.
Born on January 10, 1953, in Cagayan de Oro City, Tata lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and resilience. She was a woman who knew how to hustle — finding ways to provide, to give, and to love even in times of little. Her door was always open, and her heart even more so, especially for those in need.
Tata was happiest in the company of family and friends — laughing, sharing stories, and simply enjoying life’s simple joys. She touched many lives through her kindness, whether in big gestures or quiet acts of care. Her spirit was steady, her love constant, and her strength, though often silent, was the kind that carried families.
As we say goodbye, we celebrate the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind — one of compassion, strength, and generosity. We find comfort knowing she is finally at peace, surrounded by light and love.
Details of her memorial service will be shared in the coming days. We ask for your prayers and kind thoughts during this time. In lieu of flowers, our family encourages acts of kindness done in her memory or support for stroke awareness and elder care initiatives close to her story.
We love you, Ma. Rest now, knowing you gave us everything and more.
