Maria Guadalupe Meraz, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in Gadsden, Arizona after a courageous battle with Liver Cancer. Maria was born on November 23, 1940 in El Dorado, Sinaloa, Mexico. She is survived by her daughters, Margarita Meraz, and Carmen (Chris) Duran; sons, Carlos Meraz (Jessica Almoguer) of Yuma, Augustin Meraz of Westville, NJ; granddaughters, Monica and Nicole Garcia, both of Yuma; grandsons, Damon Meraz of New Jersey, Azael, Samuel, and Ismael; great-grandson, Johnny Ramon. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Augustin M. Meraz; father, Amado Gaspar; mother, Domitila Payan; brother, Refugio Gaspar; great-granddaughters, Autumn and Menorah Rios. A visitation will be held at Desert Valley Mortuary Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. with Father Tomas Muñoz officiating. Her final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Carlos Meraz, Christopher Duran, Augustin Meraz, Jr., Carlos Galaviz and Louie Gradias, Sr.
