YORK Margie L. (Scrivner) Sparks, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at her home. She was the wife of Daniel H. Sparks, who passed away on April 3, 2014. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Brenda M. Ritterpusch officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Sparks was born on February 6, 1928, in Sherman, Texas, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Ethel L. (Helms) Scrivner. She was an amazing homemaker and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Margie was an excellent cook who also enjoyed canning and sewing. Mrs. Sparks is survived by three daughters, Cheryl S. and husband, David Huffaker of Lancaster, N.Y., Carol L. Dohn of York, and Patricia A. and husband, Joel Naylor of Simpsonville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dean Drain of Sherman.
