LATHRUP VILLAGE, MI Margaret Shermeyer, 89, formerly of York, died Monday, December 1, 2014, at Arden Courts of Livonia, Livonia, Mich. She was the wife of Glenn E. Shermeyer, who died November 15, 2008. They were married on June 18, 1949. She was born on October 5, 1925, daughter of the late John and Anna (Portas) Horvath. She was a homemaker, a great cook, and an avid gardener. Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service that will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 2164 Mt. Zion Road, York, with the Rev. Brian McClinton officiating. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Shermeyer of Lathrup Village, Mich., and Karen Healey, wife of Michael of Jacobus; a grandson, Sean Healey; and a brother, Steven Horvath of York. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Julia Wylie, Theresa Miller, and Elizabeth Alloway; and four brothers, Joseph Smith, Louis Horvath, Paul Horvath, and Alexander Horvath. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 2164 Mt. Zion Road, York, PA 17406. Arrangements entrusted to the John W.
