Margaret Mary Zajicek, aka Margaret "Marge" Konda, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2016. She was born on the family ranch in Porterville on September 10, 1924 to Matt and Margaret Konda where she grew up with her older brothers, Joe and Ed, and her sister, Ann.She attended Hope Elementary School, Porterville High School and graduated from 4C's School of Business in Fresno. Marge worked in the contracts department of the U.S. Army at the Citadel in San Francisco during WW II. Returning to Porterville after the war, she worked in the classified ad department at the Porterville Recorder. Soon after she married James Zajicek in 1948 and settled into the life of a homemaker in Southern California where together they raised three children: Robert Zajicek (Marsha) of Marietta, GA; Patricia Alexander (Michael) of Pasadena, CA; and Mary Nowzari (Hessam) of Los Angeles, CA. She very much enjoyed her five grandchildren: Michael, Thomas, Patrick and Matthew Alexander and Grace Nowzari. In addition, she leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. An avid gardener, Marge enjoyed the many hours she spent in her yard. She will be greatly missed.Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A rosary will be held at Myers Chapel on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Church on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
