Mardester Thomas, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2024 in Palos Hills, Illinois at the age of 72.

Mardester was born on December 4, 1951 to Columbus and Mardeaster Thomas who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia "Star" Thomas, her two sisters Mattie Walker-Keys and Pearl Thomas, her two brothers Columbus "Odie" Thomas and Tony Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Norris "Tasha" Thomas, and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mardester attended Hyde Park High School and went on to have a successful career as a Drug Counselor before retiring in 2005.

Known for her love of reading and sewing, Mardester was always quick to lend a helping hand and share a kind word.

Mardester will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace.
