We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marcus Smith on February 6, 2025, in Sauk Village, Illinois, United States. He was born on February 16, 1965, to his beloved parents James and Juanita Smith.

Marcus leaves behind his partner, Ayo Saunders Smith, and a community of friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly. Though he had no children of his own, Marcus was a cherished member of his extended family and touched the lives of many.

He attended Muskogee High School where he graduated in 1984, and went on to work at Lynn Mathis where he excelled in his career.

Marcus had a number of hobbies including fishing, watching sports, and taking pride in maintaining his lawn and flower beds. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and always had a kind word and a helping hand to offer to those around him.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness. Marcus leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Marcus. You will be deeply missed.
