Marcia Jayne Panattoni Panattoni Obituary

Feb 26, 1959 - Sep 08, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
MARCIA JAYNE PANATTONIMarcia was born on February 26, 1959 to Marilyn Killgore, a teacher, and Joe Panattoni, an attorney. She joined two older sisters as the darling youngest in their lovely childhood in Ellensburg where they played dollies, goofed around in the creek, gave extravagant parties for their pets, and argued over whose sweater the other was wearing. Her mother filled the home with books, tea parties, baking escapades, friends, and so much patience, kindness, and love. Her dad took them camping, to the beach, helped them build stuff, and on their mom's bowling night out, let them run amok. Marcia was a badge-earning Bluebird and Camp Fire Girl, a good student, and homecoming royalty. She also grew up skiing, playing tennis, ice skating, and going on Sunday drives. On these drives her older sisters would whisper to her to "ask Dad to stop at the A&W," as even then she was so cute and persuasive. In her teens Marcia worked at a local hamburger drive in and mini-golf course to buy her own horse and rode constantly and competitively. After earning her B.S. cum laude in 1981 at Washington State University, Marcia earned her Registered Dietitian Certification at Oregon Health Sciences University, participating in many weird trials to earn extra money - including ingesting gobs of fish oil every day for months. She worked in California in clinical settings as a Registered Dietitian, moving into leadership very quickly and making lifelong friends immediately. She earned an MBA at Pepperdine University in 1990, opening more doors in healthcare, management and friendship. Her husband, Michael Lindstrom, sailed into her life in 1983. Michael and Marcia courted in California and adventured around the world. In 1993 Marcia and Michael, after a scientific appraisal of the best places, moved to Boise. They immediately took advantage of all the fly tying, river rafting, hiking, skiing, camping and friend-gathering available. They participated in Leadership Boise, and each worked very hard to build successful careers. Marcia's love and Michael's generosity filled their life together in Boise. Together they hosted many competitive card game nights, delicious dinners, and other celebrations. Marcia delighted in everything about her sons - Kyle, born in 1995, and Alex, born in 1998. She always said, "isn't he adorable," and then "isn't he handsome!" She was so enthusiastic and supportive of their involvement in academics, art, music, sports and social lives. Kyle and Alex, and their friends, have shown their love always, and often in very brave ways these past five years. Marcia, a hard worker and accomplished scholar herself, was most impressed by her sons' successful pursuit of their own academics and adventures. Each friendship from kindergarten to grad school, from Bluebirds to hockey parents, from Regence to Panattoni Healthcare Consultants, from PTA to neighbors, from beading buddies to her church family, and everyone in between, was cherished. Marcia gathered friends everywhere and was a tireless instigator of get-togethers. She always seemed to know what to do, and how to do it. She was smart, beautiful, generous and irrepressible. She always said, "Let's do it!"Marcia Jayne Panattoni, who lived with zeal and purpose, died on Thursday, September 8th, 2016.Marcia Panattoni is survived by her beloved husband Michael Lindstrom, her cherished sons Kyle and Alex Lindstrom, her devoted mother Marilyn Panattoni and loving sisters Debbie (Francois) Forgette and Rhonda (Andrew) Watson, brothers-in-law Peter and Karl (Sue) Lindstrom and sisters-in-law Brita (Chuck Tesar) Lindstrom and Pia (Jack Carley) Lindstrom. Also surviving are inspired nephews Joseph (Kathleen) and Patrick Forgette, Zachary Watson, Erik (Amber), Mark and Brian Lindstrom, Nicholas and Justin Daly and nieces Roslyn Watson and Eva Lindstrom. Marcia is predeceased by her father, Joseph Panattoni. Marcia's life and faith will be celebrated by Holy Trinity Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Capitol Event Center in the Adelmann Building 622 W. Idaho St. Boise, Idaho. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24 at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Cle Elum, Washington. Thanks to all of you who joined in her escapades! And heartfelt thanks to everyone for all of the visits, meals, gifts, for every work and word of love and support.
