MacKenzie Kate Malone Obituary

Jun 21, 1992 - Dec 06, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Malone, MacKenzie Kate COLONIE MacKenzie Kate Malone, 24, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2016, while travelling with her love, Joey Masciocco, in South East Asia. Her passion for adventure led her to experience more in her short 24 years on Earth than most would experience in their lifetime, and the number of lives she has touched along the way reaches far beyond this universe. "Kenzie" was our beautiful Father's Day gift, born on June 21, 1992. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Michael and Gail Landers Malone; her adoring brother and sister, Michael and Chelsea Malone; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and an entourage of friends who span the world, as well as her kitties, Gumbie and Stuart Little. She will be greeted at the gates of Heaven by her "PopPop," Marc; "Grammy," Joce; "G-pa," Jim; "G-ma," Barb; and her furry babies, Rambo and T.O. All who knew this beautiful soul have loved her and will miss her dearly. From the day she boarded the bus to Kindergarten, our girl never looked back and had no regrets. MacKenzie graduated from South Colonie Central High School, class of 2010. She received her bachelor of arts in journalism from Quinnipiac University in 2014, with high honors. A great source of comfort and reminder of home, her "Baby Blankie" received a B.A. from Quinnipiac as well. Even throughout her education, Kenzie travelled with People to People and spent a semester at sea. She lived in Australia prior to setting out to explore the parts of the world she had not yet seen. This world was simply not big enough for our girl, and she left no stone unturned. MacKenzie was president of the Harry Potter Fan Club, future owner and C.E.O. of Kenzie's Kurver Kreme, an Insanity workout fanatic, the life of the party, a source of kindness, love, happiness and inspiration to all, an artist, an athlete, a thinker, a leader, a dreamer, and a world traveller who could survive with just her backpack for months at a time. She was confident, fearless, colorful, loving, dependable and generous. She loved sushi, powdered peanut butter, a can of vanilla frosting with a side of brownies, and above all else, REAL American coffee. She was larger than life, cute as a bug's ear, and Daddy's little girl. She is the epitome of a dollar and a dream, and, to us, she will always be [email protected]. Kenzie was always 10 steps ahead of everyone else, and we know this is because she was in a hurry to get to the next best place. She was our very own Visa; she was everywhere we want to be. Her passport is peppered with stamps from every corner of the world but her favorite forever place was "always" home, where her heart is and forever shall be. Mackenzie's family will be forever grateful to Mr. Steven Carroll of the United States Embassy in Laos, and all of the caring volunteers who made it their highest priority to get our sweet baby girl home to us. Please join us as we celebrate the incredible life of this beautiful young soul, who departed this world far too soon, doing what she loved most. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 20, from 3-7 p.m. in St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 21 at 10 a.m., again in St. Clares Church. MacKenzie was extremely passionate about feeding the hungry. So, that all of the beautiful flowers in the World will continue to bloom, she would have preferred a donation to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, 965 Albany-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
