Macie Greenwald (Stowers)85, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully May 9, 2017. She was born on October 16, 1931 in Bland County, VA to the late Benton and Nannie Stowers. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Glenna Williams, Stella Tolbert, Frankie Stowers, and Eddie Stowers.  Macie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank M. Greenwald, daughter, Mary Helen (Damon) Carter; sons, James E. (Sandra) Greenwald and Michael F. (special friend Linda) Greenwald; granddaughter, Margaret Greenwald; grandsons, Michael Greenwald, Christopher Greenwald, Christian (special friend Naomi Inoa), Nicholas, Jonah, and Bryce Carter, Matthew Greenwald, David (Stephanie) Greenwald, Andrew (fiancé Nitgna Patel) Greenwald; great granddaughters, Kayla Greenwald, Mayci Morris, Lilly Greenwald, Pheobe Greenwald, great grandsons, Kameron Greenwald, Elliott Carter Inoa; and sister, Virgie Sarver of Bland County, VA.Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary - Nora Chapel, 740 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, 6131 Michigan Rd., Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
