Lyle Evans1951 - 2013Lyle Evans of Garden City, passed away on October 27, 2013, at the age of 62, from complications of Neuroendocrine Tumor Carcinoma.Lyle was born on October 11, 1951 in Pocatello, ID to Leland and Laura Evans. After attending schools in Arimo and McCammon, Lyle graduated from Marsh Valley High school in 1969. He met his wife Colleen in December of 1968 and they were married July 11, 1970. Lyle joined the United States Navy in April 1970 and was active duty until February 1980, when he then joined the Naval Reserves. His service included two tours to Vietnam and two years stationed in Athens, Greece. Lyle's son Jeremy was born in 1979 while their family was stationed in Chicago, IL. In 1984 Lyle graduated from Idaho State University and then went to work for the Tax Commission from 1984-1992. In 1990, Colleen opened "POMS, Inc." and Lyle assumed the role of CFO after having left the Tax Commission. 23 years later, in April 2013, they retired together and spent the summer enjoying traveling to see family and friends.Lyle was a member for several years with Western Whitewater Association, and also a longtime member of HBMA, serving on their National Education Committee before resigning due to health reasons.Lyle is survived by his wife of 43 years, Colleen Evans of Boise; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Becky Evans (Meridian); granddaughters, Mykenna and Kyah Evans (Meridian); sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Jim Shepherd (Pocatello); sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Lynn Barrus (Pocatello); brothers and sister-in-laws, Doug and Debbie Fleming (Pocatello); Don and Laurie Fleming (Pocatello); Dick Fleming (Cheyenne, WY); and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Laura, and also brother, Steven.The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Dan Zuckerman, Mary Beth, and all the wonderful staff at MSTI, as well as Dr. Julie Foote. We will be forever grateful to all of you. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery.
