Luzbel Walter “Flaco” Falchetti

Luzbel Falchetti, conocido como "Walter" para la mayoría y como "El Flaco" para sus amigos, nació el Lunes 28 de Mayo de 1934 en Minas, Uruguay. Paso de un sueño a otro en casa, con su familia a su lado, el Miércoles 5 de Diciembre de 2018 en Wilmington, Delaware, a los 84 años de edad.

 

Walter creció en en la Calle Inca en Montevideo, Uruguay jugando fútbol con sus amigos y su hermano Fernando "Cacho". Fue el primero en su familia que emigró a los Estados Unidos y comenzó una nueva vida en la ciudad de Nueva York. Continuó ayudando a otros que lo siguieron, a establecer sus vidas en los Estados Unidos. Trabajó muchos años en en una fábrica empaquetadora de carne y también trabajó como taxista por más de una década después de su retiro. Walter amaba a su familia y era un hombre honesto y muy trabajador.

 

Walter fue un buen hijo, un solidario hermano, un ejemplar padre, un cariñoso abuelo, un adorado tío y primo y un leal amigo. Viajaba a menudo para visitar a su familia y amigos en todo el país. Un orgulloso Uruguayo y siempre fanático del equipo "Nacional", Walter pasaba su tiempo disfrutando fútbol, ​​tomando mate y leyendo el periódico, particularmente la sección de deportes. Hacer asado afuera y estar con los muchachos en el café eran sus otros pasatiempos favoritos.

 

Un hombre dedicado a su familia, Walter pasó gran parte de su tiempo con sus hijos y sus nietos. Walter fue precedido en la muerte por su madre María Rosa y sus hermanas Gladys y Luz "Lulu". Le sobreviven sus 3 hijos Ricardo (esposa Michelle), su hija Nancy (compañero Thomas), Xavier (esposa Charlee), sus 13 nietos Nelly, Natalie, Joey, Ricardo Jr., Madison, Mason, Britain, Oliver, Penélope, Simon, Victor, Julian, Lincoln, su hermano Fernando "Cacho" (esposa Juana Rosa), sobrinas, sobrinos, primos, otros familiares y amigos.

 

Walter tocó la vida de muchos y aquellos que lo conocieron lo recuerdan con cariño. Muchos han dicho que "era un gran hombre con un alma amable y un tremendo corazón".  Será extrañado y amado para siempre.

Luzbel Walter “Flaco” Falchetti

Luzbel Falchetti, known as “Walter” to most and as “El Flaco” to his friends, was born on Monday May 28th 1934 in Minas, Uruguay.  He passed away peacefully at home, with his family at his side, on Wednesday December 5th 2018 in Wilmington, Delaware at 84 years of age.

 

Walter grew up on Inca Street in Montevideo, Uruguay playing soccer with his friends and his brother Fernando "Cacho". He was the first in his family to immigrate to the United States and start a new life in New York City. He went on to help others who followed, establish their lives in the United States. He worked for many years in a meat packing factory and also worked as a taxi driver for more than a decade after his retirement. Walter loved his family and was an honest and hard-working man.

 

Walter was an excellent son, a supportive brother, an exemplary father, a loving grandfather, an adored uncle and cousin and a loyal friend. He traveled often to visit his family and friends all across the country.  A proud Uruguayan and a forever fan of the team “Nacional”, Walter enjoyed watching soccer, drinking maté and reading the newspaper, particularly the sports section. Grilling outdoors and spending time with his friends at the café were among his other favorite past times.

 

A dedicated family man, Walter spent much of his time with his children and his many grandchildren.  Walter was preceded in death by his mother Maria Rosa and his sisters Gladys and Luz “Lulu”. He is survived by his 3 children Ricardo (wife Michelle), his daughter Nancy (partner Thomas), Xavier (wife Charlee), his 13 grandchildren Nelly, Natalie, Joey, Ricardo Jr., Madison, Mason, Britain, Oliver, Penelope, Simon, Victor, Julian, Lincoln, his brother Fernando “Cacho” (wife Juana Rosa), nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Walter touched the lives of many and those who knew him remember him fondly.  Many have said that “he was a great man with a kind soul and a warm heart”. He will be missed and forever loved.
