Rev. Spurlock touched so many lives with his infectious smile, humor, and kind heart.

It all started on July 22,1950, when he was born to Lugene, Sr. And Minnie Spurlock in Madisonville, Texas. He attended Madisonville schools and was called to preach while a junior in high school at the age of 16. Upon graduation, he moved to Dallas to attend Bishop College.

On Nov 21,1973, he married the love of his life, Carolyn Lackey, and they were blessed with two children, Nichelle and Darion.

His educational experiences include: Master of Arts in worship leadership from Dalls Baptist University, Bachelor of Arts with a major in religion and philosophy from Bishop college, corporate coach from Texas Baptist coaching, and conflict management- dispute resolution in Lakewood, Ohio.
