Louis Frank Louie Albano1923 - 2013Louis Frank Louie Albano, of Kenosha, 90, died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2013 at his home.A lifelong resident of Kenosha, born on Feb. 13, 1923, he was the son of the late Antonio and Concetta (Amato) Albano. He attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford. Louie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from January 1943 until his honorable discharge in February 1946. He was decorated with the Overseas Service Bar, Service Stripe, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with a Bronze Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. On June 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Saliture at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children and almost 57 years of marriage before Mary passed away on May 24, 2004. Louie was on the grounds crew with Kenosha Unified for over 30 years while at the same time working for Camosy Construction until the late 1980s. Prior to that, he was employed with the Simmons Company. He was an active member of the Mt. Carmel Holy Name Society and of the Italian American Club. He enjoyed golfing and keeping a vegetable garden; especially tomatoes, as well as making homemade sausage, wine, hot peppers and soppressata. Louie was proud to share the abbondaza of his garden and many looked forward to it each year. Wonderful memories were made when he traveled with his family along with the breakfasts share amongst friends. His motto was family first and he was always ready to help everyone.Louie is survived by his children, Anthony Albano of New York, NY and Karen (Mark) Jambrek of Kenosha; his granddaughter, Amy the apple of his eye along with his sisters, Phyllis ( Michael) Castellano of Kenosha and Ann (Paul) Burlingham of Pleasant Prairie and many loving brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his sister, Lucy Lentine; his brother, Paul Albano; and his twin siblings, Rocco and Lucia Albano. A special thank you, to his caregiver, Natalie for her loving care of Louie.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church for the Mass. Entombment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
