Lorraine M. SpanglerYorkLorraine M Spangler, 76, died of heart failure on May 27, 2017, in York. Lorraine is survived by her brother, Dale Beaverson; her sons, Matt and Clint and their loving spouses, Alma and Jen; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lorie J. Smith; and her ex-husband, Gene Spangler. Lorraine was born on November 30, 1940 in York, to parents Elsie and Harold Wolf. Her step-father, Henry Beaverson helped raise her after the death of her father. Lorraine was a hairdresser for over 40 years and ran her own salon out of her home. She worked at Jay's Markets, Subway and Whitecomb's Farm Market among others. Lorraine was a devoted family woman to everyone, even those that weren't family by blood. She was called "Mom" or "Grandma" by all that knew her. A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 10 at St David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Weigelstown 17315. Family visitation to begin at 10 a.m.. A reception to follow at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lorraine's life.
