Lois McConnell, beloved wife of Trevor Proverbs, mother of Tia, Tito, Teral, and Tieona, and grandmother to six little troublemakers, passed away on August 7, 2024 in Newark, New Jersey.
Born on September 24, 1961 to Arthur and Gloria McConnell, Lois was known for her infectious laughter, love of music, and endless patience as a crossing guard for the City of Irvington.
Lois graduated from West Orange High School, where she was voted "Most Likely to Brighten Your Day." And true to form, she spent her days spreading joy and laughter to all who crossed her path.
When she wasn't working, Lois could be found spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything in the world. She was known for her top-notch dance moves at family gatherings and her famous homemade macaroni and cheese.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you blast your favorite tunes, grab a slice of cheesecake in Lois' honor, and remember the joy she brought to so many lives.
You can to the family or in memory of Lois McConnell.
