Parins, LloydLloyd G. Parins, 93, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Allouez, Wisconsin, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 26, 1923, in Green Bay, to the late Frank and Antoinette (Dennisen) Parins, and attended Green Bay East High School until joining the U.S. Navy in 1941. While stationed at the Naval Pier in Chicago, Lloyd met the love of his life, Audrey Salmon. After serving in the Marshall Islands Campaign during World War II, he returned to Chicago, and the couple married on January 19, 1946. They were blessed with two children, Kathy and Bill, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Audrey's death in 2007.Making the Navy his career, the family enjoyed living at many different locations such as Kansas City, Missouri; Aurora, Illinois; Kodiak, Alaska; Phoenix, Arizona; and, Honolulu, Hawaii. Lloyd retired from the military in May, 1967, as the leading Chief Petty Officer for the Operations Division, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Upon retiring from the service, they returned to the Green Bay area where Lloyd began his second career as president of the Northwest Engineering Credit Union in 1967. He served in that capacity for almost twenty years, retiring in 1986. After retirement, Lloyd and Audrey enjoyed many good times with relatives and friends at Kelly Lake and at their own cottage at White Potato Lake. Later, they spent retirement time in Destin, Florida, and then in Sun City, Arizona. Lloyd especially enjoyed his times golfing with his brother Bob in their foursome at Northbrook Country Club. He also had many fond memories of going to deer hunting camp with his relatives near the Kelly Lake area, and attending Packers games in both Milwaukee and Green Bay. The happiest times of Lloyd's life were enjoying his family, especially his grand-daughter Lori and his five great-grand-children. Lloyd was a true gentleman with a kind soul. We loved him dearly, and he will be sadly missed by all.Lloyd is survived by his children, Kathy Parins, Two Rivers, and Bill (Jan) Parins, De Pere; grand-daughter, Lori (Gary) Noble, De Pere; and five great- grandchildren: Grant, Emily, Edward, Claire, and Ian Noble, De Pere. Survivors also include his brother Robert (Beth) Parins; his sisters: Annette (Shelby Guilette) Watkins, Pauline (Bucky) McAbee, Cece Blaser, and Mary Jo (Joe) Brusky; his brother-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Salmon and sister-in-law, Marilyn James; and many nephews and nieces. Lloyd is also survived by his very special friend, Doris Pfeiffer, and his favorite dog, Daisy. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Antoinette, and his wife, Audrey; his step-mother, Gertrude Parins; his siblings: Irvin Parins, Pearl Vanden Langenberg, Betty (Marv) Stone. Peter Parins, and Kathy Ashbaugh; and his brothers-in-law David James, Harvey Vanden Langenberg, and Pat Blaser. Lloyd's family is especially grateful for Doris whose love and companionship brought him much happiness over these past years. His family would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the management and staff of Allouez Parkside Village and to Heartland Hospice Care staff, especially Patti, for the loving care and compassion which they showed Lloyd. They would also like to thank Dr. Jeremy Green and Dr. James Williams for their excellent care of him. The family has been assisted in funeral preparations by Proko-Wall Funeral Home, Green Bay, WI.Visitation for Lloyd will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street, Allouez, WI.
