It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Knight Boober, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this life on December 7, 2025, in Bangor, Maine. Born on March 12, 1939, in Millinocket, Maine, Linda lived a rich and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Linda was proud to be part of the Stearns High School Class of 1957, where her zest for life and learning began to blossom. Her education laid the foundation for a life filled with love, family, and community. After graduating, she began her journey, one that would see her become a nurturing figure to all who were fortunate to know her.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle Jordan, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and kindness, a legacy that continues through their daughters. Linda is survived by her three daughters: Lisa, Bethe, and Rachel, each of whom carries forward the warmth and compassion that defined their mother's life.
Linda's role as a mother was just the beginning of her legacy. She was the proud grandmother of four—Lindsey, Cailee, John, and Daniel—who brought immense joy to her later years. Her heart expanded once again with the arrival of two great-grandchildren, Knox and Cecelia, who were the light of her life. Linda cherished each moment spent with her family, and her love for them was boundless and unwavering.
Throughout her life, Linda faced challenges with grace and courage, ultimately battling dementia in her later years. Despite this difficult journey, her spirit remained a beacon of love and strength for her family. She taught them the importance of kindness, resilience, and the beauty of life in its simplest moments.
Linda's funeral service will be held privately, honoring her wishes for a serene farewell surrounded by her closest loved ones. While we grieve her loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, marked by deep love for family and friends, and a legacy that will continue to resonate through the generations.
As we say goodbye, we find comfort in the memories we hold dear, knowing that Linda's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her nurturing presence will be profoundly missed, but her love will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends.
Rest in peace, dear Linda. Your love has shaped us all, and we will carry it with us always.
