Lester G. Blount, 87Hartford City - Lester G. Blount, 87, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 10:28 p.m. on Thursday, March 02, 2017 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.  He was born on Tuesday, December 24, 1929, in Blackford County, IN.He married Glenda (Culpeper) Blount on January 20, 1951 in Washington, D.C.  Lester graduated from Modoc High School, he then worked at Fisher Body, and retired from General Motors. He also was a farmer in Blackford Co. They had wintered in Padre Island since 1991. Lester enjoyed fishing, and had attended every antique engine show in Portland for the last 51 years. Mr. Blount had attended the First Baptist Church in Montpelier.Survivors include, wife - Glenda (Culpeper) Blount, Hartford City, IN; son - Larry Blount, Gettysburg, PA, son - Gary L. (Wife, Michelle) Blount, Bluffton, IN; daughter - Nancy D. Beaver, Forest, IN; brother - Merl Blount, Kokomo, IN; brother - Cody Blount, Modoc, IN; sister - Wanetta Cheesman, Modoc, IN; several nieces & nephews; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father - Floyd Blount; mother - Velma (Confer) Blount; and his brother - Roy Blount.Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.A service to celebrate Lester's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St Montpelier at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with Darrell Brown officiating.
