Leroy Pinkney was born January 10, 1941 to William and Mary Pinkney, in Baltimore, Maryland. Leroy grew up in a close-knit family where he learned the values of kindness, compassion, and hard work. From watching over his siblings to raising kids of his own, the job was always done. Leroy enjoyed spending his time dancing and singing, just as much as he enjoyed spending time with his family. Every time you seen Leroy, I can guarantee he was always smiling and making sure everyone was okay. That's just who he was. A strong man, who would help in any way possible.
Leroy had an extraordinary ability to connect with children, fostering a love for learning that shaped the lives of many others. His words spoke creativity, laughter, and encouragement, and his impact was felt long after the conversation was over.
Inside the neighborhood, Leroy was known for his love for music and light humor , which brought joy to all who passed by his home. He was also an active member at his local church, where he volunteered his time with the outreach program, helping those in need. His unwavering faith and dedication to service were an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Leroy is survived by his three children, Jennifer Pinkney-James (Michael), Robert Pinkney, and Lisa Pinkney (Mark); her six grandchildren, Tkeyah, Tyriq, London, Ashley, Keith and Michael; and his sister, Patricia Pinkney. Leroy also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and family; that he loved deeply. He was preceded in death by her parents and his brother, Michael Pinkney.
