Leota Mae (nee Davidson) Hess, age 88, of Tawas City died on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at the Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Tawas City.Leota was born on Sept. 29, 1922, in Wilber Township to George and Muriel Davidson. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in East Tawas, a member of the Episcopal Church Women's Guild, member of the vestry and enjoyed helping out with the strawberry festival and bake sale and other special events at the church. On April 26, 1940, Leota married her best friend, Harold, and together they celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2010. She is survived by her loving daughter, Marilyn Wood of National City; one brother, George Davidson; brother-in-law, Del Hess, and sister-in-law, Mable Hess; grandchildren, Pam Tressler, Roger (Ronda) Wood, Rodney Wood, Andrew (Tracy) Hess, Karla (Cory) Burza, Duane Hess, Logan Hess, Christine (Michael) Woods, Robert (Michelle) Hess and Scott Hess; great-grandchildren, Shannon McElory, Cassandra Tressler, Geoffery Wood, Charlie Wood, R. Dalton Wood, Makayla Wood, Riley Winchell, Brittany (Troy) Inman, Brenna Hess, Drew Hess, Amanda Selner, Alex Woods, Aliesha Woods, Timothy Hess, Brandon Hess, Nick Hess, Jacob Hess and Mara Hess; great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Hailee, Brady and Lillee; and many nieces and nephews.Leota was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary L. and Harold D. Hess Jr.; brothers, Lloyd Davidson, Barney Davidson and Howard Davidson; and one grandson, Gary Hess.A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Christ Episcopal Church in East Tawas, with Fr.
