Leonard Irvin Massingale, Jr., passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 20, 1952, Leonard was a longtime resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lived at 7515 E. Washington Street and was known as a hardworking, dependable man who cared deeply for his family.
Leonard worked for Lawrence North High School for 18 years, where he was respected for his dedication, consistency, and strong work ethic. After nearly two decades of service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of reliability and commitment appreciated by coworkers and the school community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jean Massingale and Leonard Irvin Massingale, Sr., and by his brothers, David Massingale and Charles Massingale.
Leonard is survived by his sister, Leslie Massingale; his children, Jason Lee Massingale and Christopher Allen Massingale, Sr.; his stepdaughter, Manessa Pettit; and all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Leonard will be remembered for his quiet strength, warm smile, and unwavering love for his family. He valued honesty, hard work, and being present for the people who mattered most to him.
In accordance with his wishes, Leonard will be cremated and laid to rest in North Carolina at his youngest son’s farm—a place of peace, family, and lasting legacy.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
