Miller, Leona M.Leona E. Miller, age 99, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.Leona was born on June 13, 1917 in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Adelman Wollersheim. On July 20, 1938 she was united in marriage to Ralph W. Miller at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1990. Leona was employed at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc for 25 years as a nurse's aide. She was a dedicated caregiver to her son Dennis. Leona so much enjoyed family get-togethers, her birthday group, and crafts. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ron and Sandy Miller, Manitowoc; her daughter and son-in-law: Diane and Richard Schipper, Cato; daughter-in-law: LaVerne Miller, Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, sister-in-law: Ella Wollersheim, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Anna Wollersheim; two sons: Dennis and Jerry; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Frieda and Lenard Miller, and Adeline and Edmund Schad; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Arthur and Rosemary Wollersheim, and LeRoy Wollersheim; and an infant brother: Francis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John and Lola Miller, Earl Miller, Edward and Lila Miller, Aaron and Margaret Fischer, and Frank and Florence Schiesl.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Warden with burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral services at the church a luncheon will be held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the 3rd and 4th floor staff at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center and Home Care Health Service Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to our Mother.
