Leon L. Meyer93, resident of Franklin United Methodist Community, previously of Indianapolis, passed away on September 6, 2017. He was born on September 4, 1924 to the late Leon and Emma Meyer.Leon worked at the family owned Al-Moe Bar on West Washington Street for many years, later retiring from the Perry Township Schools.He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna "Sugar" P. Meyer.Leon is survived by his brother, Raymond Meyer; children, daughter, Pam (Dick) Irwin and a son, Tim (Nancy) Meyer; long time companion of 27 years, Kim Walton; four grandchildren, Ryan (Mandee), Mandy (Bryan), Melissa, and Matthew (Katie) and seven great grandchildren, who called him Papa the Great.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
