FISHER, LEO ROY, 68 Leo Roy Fisher, 68, resident of Newberry, Florida, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Haven Hospice Care Center, Chiefland, following a long illness, to be in heaven with his Lord. Mr. Fisher was born on January 16, 1948 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to the late Sam and Mary Fisher. He had lived in Newberry for many years. He was employed by the City of Gainesville for over 32 years. He loved fishing, camping and Gator Football. He was a member of the Newberry Church of Christ. Mr. Fisher was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Janice Lee Fisher; a daughter, Tammy Mullens; brothers, Gary Fisher and Jackie Fisher; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Cody Harrick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gay Fisher, father, Sam Fisher, and his mother's two sisters, Ethel Howell and Goldie Clevenger. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., in the Newberry Church of Christ, 25045 W. Newberry Road, Newberry, with Minister Jess Carter, officiating.
