Lawyer Murphy was born on January 11, 1931 in Jackson, Tennessee. He was the only son with two Sisters Daisy and Berniece. In Jackson is where he met the love of his life Dorothy Adams. Together they decided to relocate to Detroit, Michigan. They married in June of 1954. On August 2, 1956 Lawyer and Dorothy gave birth to twin boys Ronald and Donald. Lawyer was a lover of Cars, especially his Mercedes Benz that he kept in top shape for many years. He spent his days working at his Mobil Gas station that he owned then moving on to own several oil dispatches. Lawyer made sure to work hard to take care of everyone in his family. He made sure to provide for not only his wife and children but Grandchildren as well. Lawyer was quiet but stern in his beliefs with an affectionate laugh that will forever be remembered.

On June 2, 2023 at 92 years old Lawyer departed this earth leaving to cherish his Memory; Two Sisters, Daisy and Berniece. His son, Ronald Murphy, One Granddaughter Michelle Murphy, three Grandsons Demetrius Lyons, Dominick Murphy and Jerimiah Murphy. One Great-Grandson, Amir and Four Great-Granddaughters, Shadiamond, Dominique, Kourtnee and Austyn. His wife Dorothy and Son Donald preceded him in Death.
