Lavinia Nelson Lavinia Nelson, 94 of Findlay and previously of Topeka, KS passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. She was born on January 29, 1922 in Allentown, PA. Lavinia married Norman E. Nelson and he preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter Pam (Ron) Newman of Westcliffe, CO and one son, Jon (Pam) Nelson of McComb, OH. Mrs. Nelson is also survived by a brother Dale (Martha) Steidel of GA, five grandchildren: Melissa Newman and Jenny BeDan both of Denver, CO, Jon Jake (Heidi) Nelson, Adam (Jackie) Nelson and Lindsey (Josh) Smith all of Findlay and seven great grandchildren: Nick BeDan, Joshua, Ella and Parker Nelson and Ethan, Ainsley and Hayden Smith. Lavinia served her country proudly in the Navy WAVES during both WWII and the Korean War. Mrs. Nelson was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Topeka, KS. She was a avid golfer, loved camping, the outdoors and playing bridge, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. All services will be private and are entrusted to Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
