Siebold, Laura A.Laura A. Siebold, age 91, of Big Flats, NY passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Corning Hospital. Laura was born on October 1, 1925 in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Dana F. and the late Beatrice H. (Medros) Simonds. She married William E. Siebold on September 16, 1945 in Everett, MA. She spent her younger years raising her two children before later taking interest in various community opportunities. She was an active volunteer for the 1972 flood relief, she worked as a docent for the Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum offering many new ideas that are still in use today. She was a passionate member of the Institute for the Blind - often re-writing novels in braille for those in need.She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William E. Siebold; two sons: Allen (Judith Johnson) Siebold of Troy, NY and William A. (Tamara Pozzi) Siebold of Beaverton, OR; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY. Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W.
