INDEPENDENCE – Larry W. Dale, 74 years old, of Independence, died on Sunday, Nov. 13, at his home. He was born on August 3, 1942, in Cerro Gordo, Ill., the son of Clarence and Frances (Campbell) Dale. On Nov. 2, 1974, he and the former Linda Marguerite Jensen were married in Rock Falls, Ill. She preceded him in death in 2007. Mr. Dale worked at Hilltop Motors for over 20 years. He retired in 2014. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.Mr. Dale is survived by one daughter, Joan Dale of Independence; two grandsons, Roger Dale and Tanner Erickson-Dale; and two sisters: Betty Whitely of Rock Falls, Ill., and Kay Bartz, of Sterling, Ill.In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.Private funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home in Independence. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
