Larry Norberto Martinez was born on June 23rd 1951 in Santa Paula California to Grace and Norberto Martinez. Larry was called by the Lord on July 14th, 2017. Larry graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1969 and was then drafted into the United States Army in the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division as a Tank Operator, Larry received a medal for National Service Defense. Larry and Becky grew up as kids and attended all of the same schools, after he returned from the military they remained long time friends, and later married on July 5th, 1975. Wherever they went he was always hand in hand with his Wife. Larry worked as a Cabinet Maker for 25 years. His passions included listening to music, classic cars, having family BBQ's, and going to Las Vegas as well as his annual trips for his birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese with his Grandkids and family. His laugh will be missed as well as his jokes and stories. He and his wife were volunteer Coaches for Girls Bobby Socks softball for 5 years. Larry was preceded in death by his Grandson Baby Lamay, his parents Grace and Norberto Martinez and his baby sister Irene. He is survived by his Wife Becky of 42 years, his children Joe (Diane), Lisa and Larry (Vanessa). Brothers Henry (Julia), Ray (Kathy) and Bobby (Janice) and Sisters Teresa (Benny) Estrella, and Patsy Guzman as well as his 4 beloved Grandchildren Naomi, Lila, Lexi, and Larry, and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends and Brother and Sister in laws.Services for Larry will be held at 10:30am on July 26th at Saint Sebastian Church 235 N. Ninth Street Santa Paula, California. Following the services there will be a Celebration of life at Steckel Park in Santa Paula.
