Larry E. Wilson, 82 peacefully passed away on February 12, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was born on May 28, 1942 in Algona, Iowa to his parents Hollis Wilson and Lois Verda Wilson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Connie Leinweber.

Larry was married to his beloved wife Dora Swager Wilson in 1964, and together they raised four children: Personna (Donald Grim), Amy (Craig Yoho), John (Tammy) and Timothy (Teresa). He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Gloria Goldenstein.

Larry graduated from Traer High School in Traer, Iowa in 1960 and furthered his education by attending airline school and auctioneering school. Throughout his career, Larry worked at Delta Airlines, Kroger, and Wilson Trucking, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2015.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed indulging in hobbies such as bowling and antiquing. He was a member of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene where he served as a board member, SS teacher, youth leader, and bus driver. He will be remembered for his kind heart, love for his family, and his dedication to his work.

Larry Wilson will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their kindness, especially his nurse AnnaLee.

Family will receive friends at Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, WV on Saturday, February 15th from 11am to 1pm. Funeral service will follow at 1pm.
