Lanny WenckWintersetLanny, 65, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, January 23, at the Winterset Community Church. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.Lanny was born on September 19, 1951, at Lake City, Iowa to Herman and Mildred Wenck. He grew up near Peru and graduated from I-35 High School. In the mid 80's Lanny opened a motorcycle shop, and later, opened his used auto dealership in Winterset. On July 4, 1993 Lanny married Sandy LeCocq at his family farm in rural Winterset.Lanny is survived by his mother, Mildred Wenck; sons, Tony (Sara) Wenck and RJ (Sarah) Wenck; daughters, Krissy (John) McDonald, Brenda (Phil) Holt, Alexis (Billy) Conant, and Ashley Temple; sister, Ellen Bruett; brother, Randy Wenck; and 17 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Wenck; wife, Sandy Wenck; and sister, Madelyn Kerns.Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 PM at the Winterset Community Church with family receiving friends from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be directed to his family for a future designation.Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
