Kurtis Lee Campbell, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023 at the age of 93 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Kurtis was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 4, 1930, the son of the late John and Mary Campbell. He was a mechanic by trade, and he was known for his loving, daring, and generous spirit. He had a passion for fixing things and spent most of his days under the hood of a car, tinkering away until it was running as smoothly as possible. But he was also a man who loved deeply, and his family was his world. His children were his greatest joy, and he would do anything to protect and care for them. And when it came to taking risks, he was never one to shy away from a challenge. Kurtis is survived by his daughter, Carol Campbell; son, Kurtis Campbell Jr.; granddaughters, Kim DeJesus and William McCorkle and Kristopher McCorkle; and great-grandchildren. This combination of traits made him a unique and admirable person, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a great listener and was always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needed it. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Kurtis was a beloved member of the community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Kurtis will be remembered fondly for his generous and kind heart. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
