KIMBERLY HAZEL-KOCOTIS Kimberly Hazel-Kocotis passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2016. She was born on August 4, 1958 in Berkeley, CA to Peter and Juanita Hazel. Kim was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Bay Area. She was valedictorian of her class at Buchser High School in Santa Clara and she received her BA in History from UC Berkeley. Kim worked as a subcontract administrator. She met Thomas Kocotis in Los Gatos and they were married in 1989. Kim and Tom moved to Chico in 2000 with their young daughter Alex. Kim was a hard worker and she was devoted to her family. She laughed frequently and loudly and her home was always open to friends and family. She was a creative and generous giver of gifts. You would always find Kim by the ocean during her family vacations. We will miss her warm smile and gentle heart. Kim is survived by her husband Tom Kocotis, daughter Alex Kocotis, siblings Debbie (Bob) Pick, Stephen Hazel, Marc (Laura) Hazel, Kelley Hazel (Dave Pon); nephew Ian, nieces Makenna, Charlie, Caylee, Marley; and brother-in-law Michael Kocotis. She was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Hazel-Jones, father Peter Hazel, and stepfather Donald Jones. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude.
